Kadga heirloom / original kadgo. A physical evidence of the initial form of a keris, estimates are made from the 300th century AD. Compared to other kadga findings, this kadga is perfect. The detailed aesthetics of the shape can still be enjoyed. It has an ancient gold-plated handle – in those days gold was very valuable and this is proof that its former owners were royal dignitaries.
The treatment is not like heirlooms in general (no need to change them) because it is feared that it could damage its integrity.
Only considering the historical value of this heirloom and the beauty of its details is worth appreciating.
At least we can still save evidence of the early stages of Indonesian heritage, with the exotic shape of the gonjo bow and fossilized bearings, as reflected in the reliefs on temples in the archipelago.
This kadga was studied at the National Atomic Energy Agency (BATAN) and the results showed that the kadga material was estimated to be approximately 1700 years old.
